In-House Rec League

Sycamore Youth Baseball offers an In-House Recreational League open to any interested player. Practice will take place in Sycamore at one of our facilities, generally 2-3 times a week, with games primarily in Sycamore (but occasionally we will play nearby communities).

When

Registration

Registration for the upcoming season will open after the new year and close at the end of February.

Teams are typically determined during March, with league activities starting in April (weather permitting). Games will begin in May and run throughout June, with seasons wrapping by the end of June.

Evaluation Day

In-House Recreational League Evaluation Day for the 2026 season is scheduled for Sunday, March 8, 2026, from 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM at the Sycamore High School Field House.

This is for players from the Futures Level through potentially Ponee. It is an opportunity to run a series of drills for coaches to evaluate and create teams.

Picture Day

In-House Recreational League Picture Day is currently scheduled for Saturday, May 9, 2026, at the Sycamore Park District Community Center off Airport Road. Exact times for teams will be posted closer to the event.

Cost

SYB prides itself on keeping baseball accessible and affordable for families. The costs listed are the price you pay at registration for your level, plus any additional fees. Fees that may be added include a small registration fee to support online registration on our website. Additionally, if paying by card or ACH, there are fees, which are a percentage of the cost.

When you register, you purchase a SYB raffle ticket as part of your registration fee. These tickets will be distributed early in the season. You can choose to sell these tickets. If you sell these tickets, you keep the proceeds to offset the registration cost. All raffle ticket stubs should be turned in on the designated date, and a drawing will be held with cash payouts.

Ponee will likely be played as the Sycamore Team(s) in another organization league, depending on registration numbers. With this model, the team(s) would be made up of players who register with SYB and would practice and play home games in Sycamore. There would be some away games in nearby communities.

Please note that we are exploring opportunities to play some games with other communities during the upcoming season, especially at the older age groups. Historically, Elburn, DeKalb, Maple Park, and Sugar Grove have had teams participate in our leagues. The difference this year is that a handful of games may be played in other local communities, rather than all being hosted in Sycamore. This is primarily done to allow our athletes to play against a wider variety of teams during the season.
