Sycamore Titans
Sycamore Youth Baseball offers a travel (club) team option, Sycamore Titans Travel Baseball, to families with an athlete who has an interest and the necessary skills. Tryouts for the Sycamore Titans Baseball team will take place in July for the upcoming season.
The intent is to field at least one, ideally two, competitive teams at age levels 8U – 14U. If your athlete tries out and is offered a spot on one of our Titan teams, they are not permitted to play in the Sycamore Rec League or any other organization or program.
Team activities may start as early as fall, but will begin in full swing just after the new year. There is a greater level of commitment, skill, and cost associated with this program.
Ages
Sycamore Titans Baseball offers programs for teams at age levels ranging from 8U to 14U. Our goal is to field at least one and ideally two 12-player teams at each age level when talent and interest permit.
When
Sycamore Titans Baseball will hold tryouts in July for the folloing year. There will be a signing day for the teams in late summer or early fall. Depending on the team activities may start as early as the fall. All teams will start activities early in the year after New Year.
Where
Sycamore Titans Baseball utilizes several facilities in the area. Our primary playing field is Citizens Memorial Sports Complex in Sycamore, IL.
We also have an indoor private training facility. Additionally, we will use other facilities in the area as needed.
Equipment
As part of the player fees with Sycamore Titans Baseball, each player will receive multiple game jerseys, pants, a belt, socks, a hat, a batting helmet, and, depending on the level, a team bag.
Additional equipment, such as cleats, gloves, bats, batting gloves, and similar items, is the player's responsibility.
Games
Games will vary by team. Sycamore Titans Baseball typically has teams ranging from 9U to 14U participate in a semi-local league that matches the competitive level of each team. These are generally KCBL or WSBL.
Each team will also play in a number of tournaments determined by the coaching staff. This can range from approximately four to eight tournaments throughout the spring and Summer.
In total, expect to play between 20 - 40 games with about half of the league games taking place in Sycamore.

Qualifications
Player must meet one of the following criteria to be eligible:
- Any player who participated on an SYB-sanctioned team for Spring 2026 OR
- Any player who lives within the Sycamore School District 427 boundaries or attends any private school within Sycamore
In the event additional players are needed to form a competitive team, the selection committee may consider players who do not meet these criteria. If your player does not meet either criterion, you may still register to try out, but you may only be considered after other players have been evaluated and offered positions on teams. Please indicate SYB team as "None" and school as "Out of Town."
We will make every effort to provide feedback for all players who attend tryouts and are not placed on a team. Additionally, there may be situations in which we feel a player may not be ready for travel baseball, and that participation may be detrimental to their development or safety. Either way, it is our goal to provide the feedback necessary for players who don't end up being part of a team within our organization to focus their skill development on specific areas independently.
